Castle Karlštejn

An hour long journey leads through the landscape to the imposing Gothic castle. Within 3 hours, you can take a tour of the castle, gardens and visit one of the local restaurant. Karlštejn was founded in 1348 by Charles IV, as a place to store the royal treasures and crown jewels. In the castle chapel today, you can find the largest collection of portraits of Czech sovereigns and a replica of St. Wenceslas crown.
